There are many aspects to sustainability, but our essential aim is to operate in a responsible way which meets the needs of people and business - without compromising the needs of future generations.
To ensure the Findus Group operates a ‘best practice’ approach to sustainability, we have created our Sustainability Group which helps us to identify and maintain the right policies for our business, and to act upon them in our daily operations.
Our overall Sustainability agenda is structured around five key work streams – reflecting the areas in which we have the most impact as a food manufacturing business:
- Fish for Life Responsible seafood sourcing.
- Packaging Better packaging and reduced waste.
- Carbon, energy and water Reduced carbon footprint and improved resource management.
- Distribution Seeking ‘greener’ methods of food distribution.
- Vegetables Our own method of sustainable vegetable production.
As a business, the Findus Group is not afraid to challenge industry practices which we feel are inappropriate to the drive for long term sustainability. Through our Sustainability Group, we hold our own policies under regular review in the light of a rapidly changing world. |
