| Frozen fish fillets manufactured for Sainsbury. |

An allegation was made yesterday (November 22) by the Sunday Telegraph regarding the fish content of two fish products manufactured by Young’s Seafood for Sainsbury’s, suggesting that these were incorrectly labelled and that we are failing to make products to the specification demanded by our customer.
We treat this attack on the integrity of our business extremely seriously and categorically refute the allegations in the article.
We have completed a detailed assessment of all production records dating back to June 2008 and are entirely confident that these products fully comply with the required specification, are consistent with legal labelling guidelines and represent good value to the consumer.
Young’s will consider the situation further this week, working closely with Sainsbury’s to reach a shared understanding of all aspects of this issue.
